Changing the digital input settings
� Change these settings to suit the connections you have made to the digital input terminals. � You can only allocate one piece of equipment per terminal. Example: �OPT 1 � becomes the only digital terminal you can use for connecting the DVD player to the unit when you change the DVD setting to the terminal.
1 Select and confirm the choice. 2 Select the equipment connected to the digital input terminal and confirm the choice. 3 Change the digital input setting and confirm the choice. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to change settings.

� You can fix the signal type (digital, analog or PCM) supplied by such equipment as the DVD recorder and the DVD player or make the unit identify the input signal type. � Select �AUTO � when it is not necessary to fix the signal.
3 Select the method for identifying input signals and confirm the choice. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to change settings.
PCM FIX mode � In rare cases, the unit may have trouble recognizing the digital signals on discs. � Use this mode when, for example, the beginning of a playing CD track is cut off. � You do not need to set the mode when playback is normal. � When PCM FIX mode is on, the unit cannot process other signals. Cancel the mode when noise occurs.

AUTO : Automatic identification of digital and analog signals (HDMI takes priority when the input signal is digital.) ANALOG : Fixes the input signal to analog. DIG : Fixes the input signal to digital. PCMFIX : Fixes the input signal to PCM. Factory setting: TV, DVR ,DVD, CD ; AUTO
� �DIGITAL INPUT� stays on the display when you fix the input signal as digital. � �PCM� appears on the display when you set the input signal as �PCMFIX �. � �PCM FIX � flashes on the display when the unit is in the PCM FIX mode and a non-PCM source is input through digital (OPTICAL or COAXIAL) connections.

OFF : When you wish to reduce standby power consumption ON : When you activate the standby through function (standby power consumption becomes 0.7 W in this setting) Factory setting: ON
When you select �OFF �, the following becomes applicable. � Standby power consumption becomes 0.3 W. � Standby through with HDMI connections (á page 7) does not work. � Ez Sync HDAVI Control (á page 13) is canceled (when the unit is off).

� You can set the unit against EZ Sync HDAVI Control when compatible TV (VIERA) and DVD recorder (DIGA) are connected.
