1. INSTALLATION
TUMBLE DRYER VENTING
Your tumble dryer will release warm, damp air in one of these ways: The dryer can be used with or without a vent hose but when using a vent hose, remember the following points: The vent hose must be at least 10cm (4 ins) in diameter. No more than 4 metres in length and three right-angled bends should be allowed when positioning the vent hose. Do not distort or constrict the vent hose as this will reduce airflow. The vent hose must not be shared with other appliances, for example, a cooker hood outlet. When drying, the vent hose must always be extended to an open door or window.

2. THE CONTROLS
A. START BUTTON To start the drying cycle. B. DRYING STATUS NEON (IF FITTED) Indicates that Anti crease is in operation and that the clothes are ready to be removed from the dryer. The neon will flash on at the start of the drying cycle. C. DRYNESS SELECTOR

(1) Fixed Rear Venting. Venting through a hole at the bottom of the back panel. A vent hose is available to convert to extendible rear venting.
Choose the final dryness of the load by selecting the desired dryness. (see programme chart). Note: The use of an iron dry programme will use 30% less energy than a cupboard dry programme. D. MIN.(SLOW) This can be selected at any time with any of the dryness programmes. Note: When selected, the drying time will be extended by approximately 4 times, however the total energy consumed per cycle is 30% less compared to the fast mode. The savings from the use of the min.(slow) Energy mode are additional to those from the use of the iron dry programmes. E. HEAT SELECTOR To select full or half heat.
(2) Extendible Rear Venting. This contains a retractable vent hose.
FINAL INSTALLATION
Push the filter into its operating position as shown in the diagram. If you wish to change the side on which your door opens, see the instructions on the back page. Remove any dust by wiping the drum and door with a damp cloth. Any initial smell from the heater should disappear after the first period of heating. Position the tumble dryer so that the plug remains accessible after installation.
A permanent connection can be made through either a wall or a window. This is particularly recommended for small, cool rooms and a kit for this purpose is available as an accessory.
3. PREPARATION
CARE LABELS YOU MAY FIND ON YOUR FABRICS
Do not tumble dry woollen or wool mixture articles unless the article is labelled to be suitable due to a possibility of shrinkage. Roll dripping wet articles in a towel to remove excess water. Place delicate articles e.g. tights, scarves, inside a pillowcase. Open the door. Load clothes loosely into the drum. Load sheets first, starting with one corner. Close the door. Dry your hands. Plug in the machine. Choose the final dryness level. Select the required heat setting.
4. OPERATION
NEVER SWITCH THE DRYER OFF AND LEAVE A HOT LOAD IN THE DRUM.
Suitable for tumble drying Tumble dry using full heat Tumble dry using half heat Do not tumble dry
To avoid the need to iron easycare polyester/cotton items it is better to only dry small loads (i.e half fill drum). It is better to dry small and large articles together. We suggest a fabric conditioner be used to reduce static electricity. Do not overload the dryer or dry large bulky items such as duvets or sleeping bags as it is important that the airflow through the dryer is not obstructed. Do not place items contaminated with inflammable substances in the dryer, such as petrol, cleaning solvents, cooking oil, fat, or hair lacquer. These can cause fires. For the same reason, do not dry rubber, foam rubber, plastic or paper.
AFTER REMOVING THE DRIED CLOTHES:
ALWAYS CLEAN THE FILTER. Failure to clean the filter will extend drying times and could cause the safety cut-out to operate. Pull the filter upwards and away from the appliance. Remove any threads or fluff by hand or with a soft brush. Slide the filter back. Wash the filter occasionally in detergent solution using a soft brush to remove small particles.
Select the required energy setting and press start. The drum will rotate in an anticlockwise direction, with the drying status light (if fitted) flashing once. The drum will now begin to rotate clockwise and will stop automatically when your clothes are dry. The drum will stop and rotate in the other direction for a short while every few minutes. If a load is checked mid cycle restart the appliance by, closing the door and pressing the start button. When drying large items such as sheets, we suggest you periodically stop the dryer to redistribute the load. When drying mixed loads, the dryer may stop when the lighter items are dry. These should be removed and the dryer restarted to allow the heavier items to continue drying. There is an automatic 9 minute cool down period at the end of every cycle, during which the heater is switched off. This helps to minimise creasing.
