Using the voice activating system to prevent unnecessary recording
The digital voice activating system (VAS) pauses recording during periods of silence and so prevents recording unnecessarily. VAS works better when microphone sensitivity is set to LOW.
You can set sensitivity to high (to record relatively softer sounds) or low (to record only relatively louder sounds) to suit the circumstances. The recording level meter can help you determine which level is needed. The sensitivity also works if you have connected external microphone. This example shows how to set sensitivity to HIGH.
