About the Ink Ribbon and Paper
Two types of ribbon and two types of paper are used: one type of each for the Dye Sublimation Printing System and the Variable Dot Printing System. When the ribbon and paper are changed, the printer automatically selects the corresponding system. Of course the type of ribbon and the type of paper must both correspond to the same printing system. The relationship between the printing systems and types of ribbon and paper are as follows:
Ribbon Dye Sublimation System A3++ UPR-9510 A4++ UPR-9511 Variable Dot System A3++ UPR-9550 A4++ UPR-9551 Paper A3++ UPP-9510 A4++ UPP-9511 A3++ UPP-9550 A4++ UPP-9551
Adding Memory
The memory in this product can be expanded using 72-pin SIMMs (Single Inline Memory Modules). The control unit has six memory slots which accept any combination of 8, 16, and 32 MB SIMMs. The maximum capacity for memory expansion is 192 MB. If memory has been added, it will be recognized automatically at power-up. Refer to Confirming Internal Printer Configuration (page 32) to confirm that the added memory has been recognized.

Other types of paper may cause problems such as paper jams. The paper loaded into the printer should remain in the package. Do not add paper to the paper package. Match the type of paper to the printing system being used. Do not store paper in high temperature or humidity. When storing paper for a long time between uses, store it in the moisture-proof bag in which it came. Do not store paper in a dusty place.
