VS-1824CD
EZ Routing
EZ Routing makes it simple to set up the VS-1824CD for typical recording and mixing applications. Use the following procedure to configure the VS-1824CD to record Input 1 onto Track 4: 1. Press EZ ROUTING and CURSOR to (Recording). 2. Press F4 (Exec), followed by F1 (Rec). 3. Press the Input 1 SELECT button followed by the Track 4 STATUS button�a line appears in the display connecting Input 1 to Track 4. 4. Press F2 (Step ). 5. Use the CURSOR buttons and the TIME/VALUE dial to set the panning and level, and press F2 (Step ). 6. Use the CURSOR buttons and the TIME/VALUE dial to select the desired effect under �FX1� and/or "FX2" and press F2 (Step ). 7. If you'd like to record the output of the effects processors, press the EFFECT RTN button for the desired effect processor�FX 1 or 2�followed by the Track 4 STATUS button. A line appears in the display indicating the effect you chose is connected to Track 4. 8. Press F2 (Step ) twice. 9. Press F4 (Exec) followed by YES. 10. Press PLAY/DISPLAY. The VS-1824CD is now ready to record. Note: The demo songs in the VS-1824CD are memory-protected, so you won�t be able to record any new material in these songs.

Mastering and Using the CD-Writing Mode
With the VS-1824CD you can record, edit, mix, master and burn CDs all within your V-Studio. Here are the basic steps for mixing down your tracks using the Mastering Tool Kit, and for burning a CD. Note: The demo song on the VS-1824CD is memoryprotected, so it can't be mastered or written to a CD. Mixing Down 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Press CD-RW MASTERING, then F1 (MstRm). Cursor to �Sw�. Turn TIME/VALUE to select On. Cursor to �CDRRecMode� and turn the TIME/VALUE dial to select On. Cursor to �FXIns� and press ENTER. Cursor to �FX1� and turn the TIME/VALUE dial to select Ins. Hold SHIFT, press F3 (EFFECT A) and then press F1 (FX1). Press F2 (Sel), turn the TIME/VALUE dial to select P210 :MTK:Mixdown and press F4 (Exec). Press PLAY/DISPLAY, and then press REC and PLAY to mix down your song. Press PAGE to display �M Ply� above F6, and then press F6 (M Ply). Press ZERO, and then press PLAY. Use the MASTER fader to control the level of your song.

Writing a CD 1. Insert a blank CDR or CD-RW disk into the CD-RW drive and press CD-RW/MASTERING. Press F2 (CD Wt). �CD-R� Write Ready?� is displayed. Press YES��STORE Current?� is displayed. Press YES. Use the CURSOR buttons to highlight the Write Method box. Turn the TIME/VALUE dial to select Disk at Once. Cursor to the L-ch Source Track box and turn the TIME/VALUE dial to select 17*16:V.T17-16. Press F5 (Exec), followed by YES. When the VS-1824CD asks, "CD Track No. OK?" press YES to proceed. Read the copyright agreement and press YES twice if you agree to the terms set forth�the VS-1824CD starts writing the CD. The length of the process depends on the length of your recording.
Using the Waveform Display
2. For precision editing, you can display the waveform for any track's audio. Use the following procedure to display a waveform: 1. Press PLAY/DISPLAY to return to the main screen if necessary. 2. Use the and buttons to select a track. 3. Press PAGE repeatedly until WAVE is displayed above F5. Press F5 (WAVE). 4. Use F1, F2, F3 and F4 to adjust the time and amplitude view of the waveform. 5. Use the REW/FF buttons to see how the waveform changes as you move through the song. 6. Press F5 (WAVE) to exit. 3. 4. 5.
