Entering text, numbers or symbols At various times when using your phone, you will need to enter text. For example, when storing a name in the Internal Phone Book or entering events in your Calendar you will enter text. Selecting a Text Input Mode When prompted to enter text, the current text entry mode will appear above the key in the lower right hand side of the display. There are four text entry modes: T9® Word Alpha Number Symbol To change the Input Mode, press the key. When entering text, use the indicated key to perform the following text entry functions: press to change the text entry case (All CAPs, Initial Caps or lowercase). press Next to cycle through candidate T9 word matches. press Space to insert a space. Press to enter a period ( . ) and other common symbols. Alphabetical Text Entry Alphabetical characters may be entered in the Input Mode by pressing the key corresponding to the character that you want to enter. Three alpha modes are available to you: ABC (all uppercase) Abc (initial character is uppercase followed by lowercase characters) abc (all lowercase) Tapping a given number key repeatedly changes between the characters represented by that key.
