Sales Tax
The sales tax worksheet computes tax before or after sales tax, or the tax rate itself. � � � Before Tax: the amount before taxes. Tax Rate%: the tax rate as a percentage. After Tax: the amount after taxes.

Example: The local tax rate is 5.5% You have a maximum of $70 to spend on clothing. What is the maximum amount of clothing you can purchase and still have enough to pay for the tax? Key Entry Comments Clear� Sets the display to its default values Tax Rate% 5.5 After Tax 70 Compute the before tax amount by selecting �CPT� on the same line. You can have a maximum of $66.35 worth of clothing.
