MEANING
q The battery is run down. q Nothing is recorded. q You tried to record from a copy prohibited MiniDisc. q A track cannot be edited. q The disc data cannot be read because the disc is damaged.
REMEDY
q Charge the rechargeable battery or replace the alkaline battery (or use the AC adaptor for power). q Replace the disc with a recorded disc. q Record using the analogue cable. q Change the stop position of the track and then edit it. q Reload the disc. q Replace it with another recorded disc.

MEANING
q A disc has not been loaded. q Poor connection of the digital cable. q No output signal comes out from the connected unit to playback. q The input signal has improper sampling frequency. q You recorded on a playback-only disc. q The battery charger is defective. q The write protection tab of a MiniDisc is set to the protected position. q You tried to record on a playback-only disc. q Since a track number is currently being located or updated, the unit cannot accept your command. q The temperature is too high. q There is an error in the recording signal. q There is no space left for recording character information (track names, disc names, etc.). q The track has been protected from being erased. q A disc which contains data other than music was played. q There is an error in the signal recorded on the disc. q Stamping is not possible.
REMEDY
q Load a disc. q Connect the digital cable securely. q If the portable CD player has a function to prevent sound skips, deactivate it. q Playback with the connected unit. q Replace it with a recordable disc. q To have it repaired, go to the distributor where you purchased the unit. q Move the write protection tab back to its original position. q Replace it with a recordable MiniDisc. q Wait for a while and try the operation again.
