Choose the dialing mode
For the telephone to work properly, select an appropriate dialing mode (tone or pulse).
Additional tasks
To Adjust the handset volume Adjust the ringer volume Put a call on hold Switch to tone dialing temporarily Switch to another call (�call waiting service�*) Do this Set the HANDSET VOL switch to H (high), M (middle) or L (low). You can adjust the ringer level of line 1 and 2 respectively. Set the L1 or L2 RINGER switch to H (high), L (low) or OFF. Press (HOLD). The corresponding HOLD lamp lights red. Press (LINE 1) or (LINE 2) to resume the conversation. Press TONE (* ) after you�re connected. The line will remain in tone dialing until disconnected. Press (FLASH). Press (FLASH) again to return to the first caller.

Depending on your dialing system, set the DIAL MODE switch as follows:

Redialing
1 Press (LINE 1) or (LINE 2). 2 Pick up the handset.
You will hear a dial tone.
3 Press (REDIAL/PAUSE) to redial the last number dialed.
The last number dialed is automatically redialed.
Notes
If you aren�t sure of your dialing system
Make a trial call with the DIAL MODE switch set to T. If the call connects, leave the switch as is; otherwise, set to P.
� The last number dialed cannot be stored separately for each line. It is the very last one you have dialed using either line. � The number must not be longer than 32 digits for pulse dialing or 31 digits for tone dialing. Note that tone and pause are each counted as one digit.

Press (LINE 1) or (LINE 2) to select the line. Pick up the handset. You will hear a dial tone. Dial the phone number. When you�re done talking, replace the handset in the cradle.

Enter the phone number you want to store. You can enter up to 16 digits for pulse dialing or 15 digits for tone dialing. Note that tone and pause are each counted as one digit. Press (SPEED DIAL). Press one of the dialing keys ((0) to (9)) to store a phone number on. Replace the handset in the cradle.

You can talk to the second party. After talk to the second party is over, press (LINE 1) or (LINE 2) on which you have talked before. You can talk to the first party again.
Tips
� If you enter a wrong number in step 4, press (PGM), then start from the beginning. � Use the supplied directory label to write down what you stored on the speed dialing numbers and attach the label to the telephone.
To store a number to be dialed via Private Branch Exchange (PBX)
Before entering a phone number in step 4, do as follows:
1 Enter the outside line access digit (e.g., 9). 2 Press (REDIAL/PAUSE).
To change a stored number
Store a new number, as described previously.You can replace the stored number with a new number, but you cannot just erase it.
