1 Batteries
The shaver works on two AA/penlight/LR6 batteries. Type Philips LR6 is especially recommended.

About the batteries � Store the shaver at temperatures between 5° and 35°C.. � Remove empty batteries from the shaver. � Batteries contain substances which may be harmful to the environment. Please hand in your empty batteries at an officially assigned collection point.

2 Shaving
� Ensure that the shaver never comes in contact with water. � You obtain the best shaving results on a dry skin. Preferably shave before or some time after washing. the shaver on by sliding the switch upwards. the shaving heads quickly over the skin. Make both straight and circular movements. B Stretch the skin with your free hand. � This will bring the hairs upright and provide a closer shave. � Long hairs on the neck can also be shaved off in this way.

Shaving heads � Every 2 months. B Disassemble the shaving unit in order to clean the shaving heads. Remove the shaving heads holder. Clean each shaving head (cutter and guard) separately. This is essential since the cutter has been ground with the guard. If you should accidentally mix up the guards and cutters, it may take several weeks before optimal shaving performance is restored. Clean each cutter carefully by brushing in the direction of the arrow only, using the short bristled brush. Brush the guard clean.You have to lubricate the central point of the inside of the guard only if your skin is quite dry, or if you have degreased the shaving unit. Reassemble the shaving unit. You have to lubricate the upper side of the shaving heads only if your skin is quite dry or if you have degreased the shaving unit.

the shaver off. Use the small brush, which can be found in the protective cap. It is possible to clean the shaving unit by means of a degreasing liquid (alcohol for example). Lubricate the shaving heads with a drop of sewing machine oil.

Shaving unit � Every week. B Clean the top of the shaving unit first. Remove the shaving unit from the shaver and clean the inside.
Replacing the shaving heads Use only Philishave shaving heads (type HQ 2) to replace damaged or worn shaving heads.
