Enter the Remote Control code.
a)Cover the IR emitter on the front end of the Remote Control. This prevents the Remote Control from operating your Satellite Receiver while you program the Remote Control. b)Press and hold the TiVo and POWER/TV buttons at the same time until the Remote Active indicator lights (about three seconds), then release the buttons. The indicator remains lit. c)Use the number keys to enter one of the four-digit codes listed for your TV brand. The indicator flashes three times, indicating that you entered the code correctly.

MUTING
Program your TV PWR, VOL, and MUTE buttons: Point the PTV Remote away from the Recorder and hold down the TV PWR and TIVO buttons on the Remote for 5 sec. Enter the first code using the numbers on the Remote. Test the TV PWR button. If it doesn't work, try the next code.

d)Test the code by aiming your Remote Control at the TV and pressing the POWER/TV button. If the TV turns off, you have programmed the correct code. e)If the Remote Control did not turn off your TV, repeat steps 4a through 4d and try the next code listed for your TV.

Note
If you connected an audio system to your Satellite Receiver, you can program the Remote Control�s POWER/TV, VOL (volume) and MUTING buttons to operate your audio system rather than your TV. In step 2c on the previous page, select �Remote A/V Stereo System�, and continue the procedure.
