Flowchart of Failure Analysis for The Audio System
=> AU1 Has the sound been emitted from the speakers? Yes No Is sound muting set? No Is the volume set to 0? No Is a headphone inserted? No Is a SPDIF signal input to IC7602 (DP TX)? (pin 6) No Is a SPDIF signal output from IC5801 (MSP)? (pin 126) No Yes Check around the IC7602 (DP TX) and the communication with the microcomputer, and replace the System Cable. Repair the failure points, then check again. Yes Check the IC5801 (MSP) and peripheral circuit and clock output of X5801. Repair the failure points, then check again. Yes Pull out headphone, then check again. Yes Raise the volume, then check again. Yes Cancel muting, then check again.

Has the sound been emitted from the MONITOR OUT terminal? Yes

No

Is a 12 V output from +12V_Reg No output of IC4308 (+12V_Reg) normal? Yes Are signals output from IC5911 (OP AMP)? (pins 1, 7) No Are signals input to IC5911, IC5931? (pins 2, 3, 5, 6) No

Check the IC4308 (+12V_Reg) and peripheral circuit. Repair the failure points , then check again.

Yes Check the IC5911 (OP AMP) and peripheral circuit. Repair the failure points , then check again.

Yes Check the peripheral circuits and the communication with the microcomputer. If there was no problem, replace the IC5801 (MSP).

No

Is sound muting set? No Is the volume set to 0? No

Yes

Cancel muting, then check again.

Yes

Raise the volume, then check again.

Is a 5 V output from +5V_Reg No output of IC4310 (+5V_Reg) normal? Yes Is a signal output from IC5971 (HP AMP) ? (pins 1, 7) No

Check the IC4310 (+5V_Reg) and peripheral circuit. Repair the failure points, then check again.

Yes Check the FFC (J201) between the MAIN BLOCK and FRONT IO Assys. If there was no problem, replace the IC5971 (HP AMP) or FRONT IO Assy.

Yes Check the IC5801 (MSP) and peripheral circuit and clock output of X5801. Repair the failure points, then check again.
