The environment
Make sure the batteries are completely empty when you dispose of them. Do not throw batteries away with the normal household waste, but hand them in at an official collection point.

Clean the Ladyshave every time you have used it. Do not use any corrosive detergents, scouring pads or cloths, petrol, acetone etc. to clean the appliance. Do not exert any pressure on the shaving foil to avoid damage.

1 Reduced shaving performance. Cause 1:The shaving head is dirty.
After each use
1 Switch the appliance off.
� Remove the shaving head and release the shaving foil unit from the trimmer unit. � Clean the shaving foil and the cutter block. � You can clean both parts by rinsing them under the tap. � Remove any hairs that might be stuck under the trimmer!

2 Rinse the appliance under the tap (fig. 10). Do not clean, rinse or immerse the Ladyshave in water if the cover of the battery holder is not properly closed. Do not use water that is hotter than shower temperature to clean the appliance. 3 Remove the shaving head (B) from the appliance (fig. 11) to clean the hair chamber and the shaving head. Rinse the hairs off the shaving head (fig. 12) and the appliance (fig. 13).
Cause 2:The appliance runs too slowly (the shaver produces a weak sound).
� Change the batteries. � Clean the shaving head. � Lubricate the shaving head with a few drops of sewing machine oil.

2 Stronger skin irritation than usual. Cause 1: Shaving foil is damaged or worn.
� Replace the shaving foil.

3 Appliance doesn't work. Cause 1: The batteries are empty.
Put the shaving head back onto the appliance ('click').
� Replace the batteries.

From time to time
Once a year in case of normal use. 1 2 Remove the shaving head (B) from the appliance (fig. 11). Release the shaving foil unit from the trimmer unit (1) and separate the two units (2) (fig. 14). Brush the shaving foil and the cutter block carefully (fig. 15). Place the shaving foil unit on a solid and flat surface and press the trimmer unit back onto the shaving foil unit (fig. 16). Put the shaving head back onto the appliance ('click').
Cause 2: Batteries have not been placed in the battery holder correctly.
� Put the batteries in the battery holder in accordance with the indications in the holder.

Cause 3: Battery holder has not been closed properly.
� Push the cover of the battery holder onto the appliance until you hear a click. 4 Appliance fell into water while it was open.

� Remove the cover of the battery holder and let the appliance dry.

Maintenance and replacement
Lubricate the shaving foil with a drop of sewing machine oil twice a year (fig. 17). If you use the Ladyshave twice a week or more, we advise you to replace the shaving foil and cutter block every one to two years. � The shaving foil may only be replaced with an original Philips shaving foil (type HP2904). � The cutter block may only be replaced with an original Philips cutter block (type HP2907). 1
