If you will be
Short vacations.. .
No need to shut off the refrigerator away for less than four weeks. Use up the perishables; freeze other items. Turn off your Ice maker; shut off the water supply; empty the ice bin and make sure all ice cub& are dispensed out of the mechanism.

Remove all the food if you are going for a month or more. At least a day ahead. turn off the water supply to the ice maker. When the last load of ice drops, turn off the ice maker. Unplug the refrigerator and clean it...rinse well and dry. Tape rubber or wood blocks to both doors ..keeping them open far enough for air to get in. This will keep odor and mold from building up. 10
