3.1.5 How to Write the GUID
Note: � When the case assy or the USB 2.0/IEEE 1394 conversion board is replaced, the GUID must be written to the new board. � An IEEE 1394 device must have its own unique 64-bit ID (GUID: Global Unique ID). On the conversion board of the DVRS706, the GUID was written at the factory following the specifications indicated below. � If the board is replaced, the same GUID must be written to the board. Before replacing the board, be sure to take note of the serial number indicated on the label attached to the bottom of the unit. � The program for writing the GUID will run only on Windows 2000 or Windows XP when the DVR-S706 is connected with it via a USB interface.

� Installation method
Program file: Copy the "Storage Ee Writer.exe, EEPromDLL.dll, and EEPromW.ini" program files to the same holder. Data file: Copy the "PL3507_63_KBXV.sdt, PL3507_64_J.sdt, and PL3507_67_XVCN.sdt" data files to an appropriate place.

1. Start up your PC. 2. Turn the DVR-S706 on. 3. Connect the PC and the DVR-S706 using a USB cable. 4. Double-click on the icon for the copied "Storage Ee Writer.exe" program.
