Press the STANDBY button on the remote controller to wake up the digital receiver.
The receiver will display the "Welcome" screen (refer to page 19) to give you something to look at while you are tuning the TV.
Tune the TV.
Now you need to tune the TV channel you have selected for watching digital programmes. If you are not sure how to do this, refer to the TV's operation guide. Store the channel when the "Welcome" screen (refer to page 19) appears on the TV.
Connect the antenna to the digital receiver and check if the picture remains steady (no wobbling, interference, or snow).
Switch the TV to all the other tuned channels, including the channel tuned for the VCR, and check the picture quality.
If the picture quality is good, go to the "GENERAL OPERATIONS" section on page 18. If there is a picture quality problem even though the antenna is connected, follow the instructions below. 1 Disconnect the antenna from the back of the receiver. 2 Check to make sure the TV is tuned to the channel selected for watching digital programmes. 3 If the "Welcome" message is displayed on the screen, press the SELECT button on the remote controller. The Main Menu screen should now be displayed. 4 Select Option 4 "Viewing Preferences" from the Main Menu screen, Option 2 "TV and Video Settings," and then Option 6 "UHF Output Channel." The current setting for this option, 36, should be changed if there is interference. Select a channel that is far from 36. Press the RED button (back) to return to the previous screen and store the setting. 5 Repeat the steps from "Tune the TV" to check if the picture quality improves. When the picture quality is satisfactory, go to the "GENERAL OPERATIONS" section on page 18.
