1-3. Removal and Installation of Main Part
1-3-1. Replacement of BKDE-560 Hard Disk Drive Unit
1. Video Hard Disk Drive Unit If the video hard disk drive unit malfunctions, obtain replacement parts from Sony Parts Center and replace them without repairing the hard disk drive unit. If a failure occurs when the hard disk drive unit purchased from except Sony Parts Center is installed, the drive unit cannot be guaranteed. Part No.: T-9190-690-A VIDEO DISK ASSEMBLY 2. Audio Hard Disk Drive Unit If the audio hard disk drive unit malfunctions, purchase BKDE-562 as replacement parts and replace them without repairing the hark disk drive unit.

4) Removal of cross bracket Remove the four screws fixing the cross bracket, then remove the cross bracket from the chassis. 5) Replacement of fan motor Remove the fan motor, and replace it with a new one. m � When replacing the fan motor (lower), remove the fan motor (upper) once, and then replace the fan motor (lower). � Put the arrow of �AIR FLOW� marked on the fan motor in the direction of the connector panel when installing the fan motor. � Connect the lead wires of a new fan motor surely with the lead wires of the switching regulator. Lead wires of fan Lead wires of switching regulator RED/RED ORG BLK/BLU BLK 6) Install the fan motor in the reverse order of steps 1) to 4). 2. BKDE-550 (On the switching regulator) 1) Removal of top panel After opening the front panel, remove the four screws, then remove the top panel. (Refer to section 1-1.) 2) Removal of switching regulator Remove the two screws and release the fastening of the switching regulator to the chassis. 3) Replacement of fan motor Raise the switching regulator slightly and remove the four nuts. Next, remove the fan motor and replace it with a new one. m � Put the arrow of �AIR FLOW� marked on the fan motor in the direction of the switching regulator when installing the fan motor. � Connect the lead wires of a new fan motor with - 15V and GND terminals on the switching regulator. 4) Install the switching regulator in the reverse order of steps 1) and 2).

1-3-2. Replacement of Fan Motor
1. BDKE-550 (On the connector panel) 1) Removal of top panel After opening the front panel, remove the four screws, then remove the top panel. (Refer to section 1-1.) 2) Opening of connector panel. Loosen the two screws and open the connector panel. (Refer to section 1-1.) 3) Removal of fixing screws Remove the two fixing screws of the four screws fixing the fan motor (upper).
